Tunkwa Provincial Park

What you need to know :

The park is located between Savona and Logan Lake on the southern Thompson Plateau, about 40 km south-west of Kamloops. It is accessed via 24 km of paved road from Savona or 16 km of paved road from Logan Lake on the Tunkwa Lake Road.
From Vancouver you travel through Hope up Highway #5, the Coquihalla Highway, past Merritt to the Logan Lake turn-off. Travel west through Logan Lake ~1km to a 4 way stop and turn right onto the Tunkwa Lake Road for 16 km to Tunkwa Lake.
At Tunkwa Park there are three separate campgrounds, Tunkwa, Leighton and Leighton North. Combined, the three campgrounds offer 55 traditional style sites and 210 informal sites. They can accommodate camping units from a tent to a large recreational vehicle. Upon arrival, choose a site and staff will be around later to collect camping fees and provide the option to purchase firewood.
The gates at Tunkwa Provincial Park are always open, 12 months of the year, seven days a week and 24 hours per day. The operating season with services is generally from May 1st to Thanksgiving weekend, yet this may vary slightly depending on weather conditions. The cost is $15.00/night and $7.50/night for BC Seniors during the shoulder season (from the day after Labour Day to June 15th).
